Land-Use Plan Transportation Plan Commercial Sub-Area Plan Development Guidelines The Lannert Group developed a comprehensive planning program that consists of the formulation of a community-wide transportation plan, land use plan, sub-area plans, and development guidelines. The focus of these plans included neighborhood revitalization, economic development, and greenway corridor expansion. One of these sub-areas was the area near the intersection of Milwaukee Road and Interstate 90. This area has the potential for the greatest economic and business development opportunities in Beloit. The traffic, exposure, and regional transportation links have sparked a series of recent commercial developments, including the construction of the largest Wal-Mart store in Wisconsin. In order to better deal with the rapid growth in this area, The Lannert Group created a specialized plan for this area. Two other sub-areas with more detailed plans were the Hackett and Merrill neighborhoods. These two areas involved extensive planning to help revitalize two ailing city neighborhoods. |
