Winner of the Home Builders' Association of Greater Chicago's highest award in both planning and landscape architecture, Pheasant Run Trails demonstrates our expertise in maximizing the density of a site while maintaining an aesthetically pleasing appearance and a comfortable pedestrian scale.

Projects of similar scope were researched to determine desirable building groupings, orientation, and courtyard size.  As a result, buildings were reduced from eight units to four to break up building mass, setbacks were varied to enhance the streetscape, heavily landscaped courtyards were designed to provide a comfortable distance between the buildings, and large mature trees were provided to screen and separate unit decks allowing residents to look into treetops rather than into other homes.  In addition, the site design called for raising the grade of the courtyard unit to provide ground level entrances.  This eliminated the need for the exterior stairs, which often dominate the appearance of this product type.
